For an extended period, we have meticulously deliberated the prospects of constructing our platform on either Base or Blast or even staying ETH — where we are . Each network possesses its own distinct allure, captivating both developers and users alike. However, Base emerges as the more compelling option, primarily due to its alliance with foundational partners and its robust community of long-standing, active participants. For a detailed juxtaposition between Base and Blast, please refer to the comparison chart, with data sourced from Nansen & Defilama.

Blast seems to have a more impressive following on X , but Base has an equally impressive following on Discord, warpcast, and Github. And these are also social networks that show that reputable communities and programmers are active.

Notably, after Blast’s airdrop ended, Blast exploded in a large amount of activity on the network and then gradually decreased (Figure 1.2). Some users left and continued to increase. This is believed to have been due to the influence of Blast’s reward decision — A review article about Blast after the airdrop ended

We can easily see that Base’s TVL and Trading Volume in the past 3 months are larger than Blast’s and tend to be more positive and sustainable. And the number of Active addresses on Base is 14 times higher than Blast’s as of August 2024 (after Blast pays airdrop to users).

Staying the Course: Ethereum as the Preferred Blockchain for Now

After extensive deliberation and meticulous examination of the evolving blockchain ecosystem, we have reached a pivotal conclusion. The prospect of diverging from Ethereum at this juncture holds little strategic merit. While the shifting dynamics of the industry initially prompted us to explore alternative chains, our assessments reveal that Ethereum remains, for now, the most robust and viable foundation for our operations. However, as we continue to innovate and grow, we are not ruling out the possibility of future collections being hosted on a different blockchain, should the landscape further transform.

With the above signals in the long term, we can set a certain priority. The expansion campaign on other chains to develop and expand the community has never been closer. We will have a time for a new Vote soon and announce long-term strategies for game development or features to develop and cooperate with potential projects on new network and bring to the community many events with many other attractive rewards in the future. So don’t forget to follow BearX’s journey to enter new network this time.

Sincerely,
BearX Team
